Welcome to the website of the Fresno Bonsai Society.

The purpose of the Fresno Bonsai Society is to expand the knowledge and skills of Bonsai within its members while offering opportunities for appreciation of this art form to the broader community. We do this through the inspiration of the beauty of the natural world and the rich cultural heritage of Bonsai.

“We will conduct a mini-exhibit of some of our club’s finest bonsai on April 7th at the Köen-Nai fundraising event for the Clark Bonsai Collection at Shinzen Garden. We will have a huge bonsai sale with the Clark Collection at that event and two Silent Auctions of Bonsai. The gates will open at 10 AM. The beautiful Annual Toko-Kazari Tokonoma Display Competition will be held within the Bonsai Exhibit Area that day also. This event will substitute for our April general meeting. There will be two shohin bonsai displays and the Shohin Study Group will conduct their monthly meeting at the event. This will be a great opportunity to enjoy, learn, and acquire bonsai. Join us!

The Bonsai Basics Class will meet April 14th at 9 AM at 1660 East Richmond Avenue in Fresno. We will discuss bonsai tool care and sharpening, fertilization techniques, and review wiring for styling. If you have wanted to learn about bonsai and wanted to investigate the opportunities with the Fresno Bonsai Society, join us. Visitors are always welcome!”

Do you have a bonsai that is not thriving or simply a question about bonsai. For help, contact us by clicking on the Our Club menu to the left.

Ever wonder what you should be doing for your Bonsai on any given month of the year?  Well that is why we have an Almanac on our web site.  It explains month to month when you should:  re-pot, wire, prune, etc.

Our club meets the second Saturday of each month from September through June. The meeting places may vary according to seasons and activities each month, check the newsletter for details.

We are very fortunate to hold our meetings in the beautiful Shinzen Japanese Garden.  We cordially invite you to visit us at our next meeting and look forward to seeing you.

Our website contains a wealth of information about our club, bonsai related articles, plus a wealth of information on the care of bonsai.  If you don't find the answer to your question you can contact someone personally by going to the Contact Us page and send us an e-mail and one of our experienced members will respond.
